Isabel was born on the mainland of Australia in Melbourne. The mother of Isabel is Swiss while her father is Australian. Her family has lived in Australia, Switzerland, Melbourne Jabiru (a small mining community within the Northern Territory), Cairns Australia and Jabiru in Switzerland. Her schooling was with Nina and other children from various communities, including First Nations. Isabel currently lives at Byron Bay NSW Australia. Isabel has been actively involved in the field of drama since her primary school years. She continued to study acting at the Victorian College of Arts Queensland University of Technology and then lately, she studied The PEM Method Perdekamp The Emotional Method. Her agent discovered her in 2002. She had never tried auditioning for roles prior to that. The audition was for a role on Home and Away 1988. She was not selected to play the part, however she impressed enough producers to make a new model for Tasha. After three years she was awarded the Logie Award as a new talent in television for her performance. In 2008 Isabel relocated to Los Angeles. In 2009, her breakout part was Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. In the years since, she has appeared in numerous US and Australian film productions, and was awarded multiple awards. Recently, Isabel had a cameo in the awards-winning Bosh & Rockit Ocean Boy the film which is quickly becoming an Australian classic and in the near future, she will be in thriller Lunacy. Isabel recently finished Sons of Summer. She is also in the pre-production stage for her character Marie Curie with award winning screenwriter and director Annika Glas. Isabel has worked with several environmental groups as well as an animal rights activist. Over the past ten years she has been an ambassador for the Melbourne Human Rights and Arts Film Festival. Known for her ethical eco-conscious interests and her commitment to the cause of social justice Isabel was chosen as the brand's ambassador and the spokesperson for several makeup and fashion campaigns.
